Drop of Water held a small inauguration ceremony

Sunday May 29, 2016, Drop of Water held a small inauguration ceremony for water wells to serve unfortunate villagers who used to have to travel several hours a day in search of water.
Drop of Water serves in providing clean water as well as educating in clean water maintenance. Volunteers collected and donated clean jerry cans to be used along with the newly built clean and easily accessible water sources. There are six water well projects in Hintallo Wajirat and Enderta Woredas in Tigray regional state, all of which had required dedication and patience to find water at a depth of 60meters in a shallow borehole construction technology. These wells are expected to serve an average of 90 households each with the Ethiopian standard of 5 family members in a single household.
The villagers warmly received Hermella Wondimu, co-founder of Drop of water and volunteers from Mekelle University and acknowledged how much easier access to clean had been made to members of the community. They showed gratitude by gifting the volunteers in their traditions and holding a small ceremony of their own.
Drop of Water also acknowledged certain outstandingly performing individuals in the process of the works and clearly sparked motivation that more can be done. Drop of Water will definitely be around until all problems of lack of clean water have been eradicated.
